I Feel My Savior's Love

*
Last week I ended up using New Song Blobby to help teach Choose the Right.  I hadn't had a member of "the fam" at Primary for a while, and the kids love it when I bring one or the other.  The new Sunbeams haven't even seen any of them, so I figured it was time.  Since we spent a lot of time on just learning the new words, we didn't get a chance to "blob" much, so this week we'll be blobbing away.  It's a win/win.

I've been planning to add baby sister Betty Spaghetti to the family line-up, I just haven't had time to get her together yet.  Maybe next week ;-)

This morning I worked on a flip chart for I Feel My Savior's Love -- you can access it here.  I'm not sure if we will use it for the program or not, but I want to make sure the children are familiar with it -- it has such a beautiful message.

  1. Thank you so much for sharing your ideas I want to make all of your triplets! And I am so excited to see cute Betty spaghetti. I am a new chorister and have not used blobs before. How exactly do you use them with new song blobby. If the kids get the ball through his mouth then you don’t put a blog up but if they miss than you do? I would love any ideas on how you use him. He is so cute. Thank you

  2. Janeil, I keep it pretty simple -- either I put the blobs on (esp. when trying to challenge the Sr. Primary), or I choose a helper or two to help blob up the words on the flipchart/wordstrips/pictures I am using to help teach a song. If the Primary can sing the song through without help on the "blobbed" areas (I don't sing the blobbed words, just so I can tell if the kids know them or not), I choose another helper or two to throw a ball (usually one of those squishy kind that light up when they are tossed) into Blobby's mouth. Lately I have done a boys vs. girls challenge. If they can't remember the words that are covered by the blob, then we stop and review the words again, and I will give them an extended explanation of the words/picture to help with their memory and concept of the words. It seems really simplistic, but even the older kids in our Primary like the challenge of getting the ball into Blobby's mouth. Last Sunday the oldest child in Primary asked if he could PLEASE throw the ball, since it would be his last week before moving into YMs. I hope that helps!!

  3. Thank you so much for sharing this with others! I sit with a boy with autism in Sharing Time, and visuals really help.

  4. What a beautiful flip chart-- thank you for sharing it! Do you recall the name of the picture with the mother helping her son to walk after the Savior in the painting on the wall? I love that and would love to find out where I can purchase it. Thank you for your help!

  5. So I am not even sure if you are still running this blog, but I snagged this flip chart from you today. Thank you so much for posting it and for doing it for the entire song! I can't tell you how many I searched through to try to find someone who had done the whole thing. Thanks so much.
